Lucir Sinchon

This was a place I booked to stay after the Labbit Festival, near Sinchon, where my girlfriend, her friend, and I planned to drink and spend the night. There were three of us in total, and we booked two rooms. From the moment we checked in, the staff treated us as if our party had some improper intentions, which made me very uncomfortable. We did not behave in any way that would justify suspicion, and in fact after checking in we were only going to drop off our bags and go out drinking again. Nevertheless, they said things like “you can’t go up together,” and their attitude felt accusatory from the start. I went back earlier because I had to work the next day, arriving around 2 a.m., and my girlfriend and her friend came back around 5 a.m. I was told that even then the staff stopped the two of them from entering and asked, “You’re not going into the same room, right?” Repeatedly saying this to guests who reserved two rooms feels extremely rude. I understand the business may have reasons to verify certain situations for operational or safety reasons. However, it is highly inappropriate service to assume guests are in an illicit relationship without any basis. If there were a real concern, it would be reasonable to address or intervene if an actual violation occurred; approaching guests with suspicion from the outset is very upsetting. The room condition itself was fine. Still, service and how guests are treated are crucial parts of the lodging experience, and repeatedly expressing unnecessary suspicion toward guests who booked and visited properly was more than disappointing — it was distressing. This is the first time I have been treated this way at an accommodation. I believe the attitude toward guests needs to be improved.
