Breadhill Hotel Jongno

1. Location I come to Seoul often for business, and since accommodation prices near City Hall have gone up, I was looking around nearby. I chose this place because it is within walking distance to City Hall. It was really about a 2-minute walk from Jongno 3-ga Station Exit 15. You have to go slightly into a side alley. When entering the alley you pass a lot of smokers. 2. Check-in difficulty (?) I was a bit taken aback at the main entrance when checking in. There are four steps up; my suitcase was light so it was fine, but if a woman had a large suitcase it might be awkward. Next, the door opens with a code, but I could not find any record of receiving a code. The instructions did say to contact them by KakaoTalk or phone, but when I was about to call, the owner of the grilled fish restaurant in front of the hotel came out—maybe thinking I was a foreigner—and pressed the code to let me in, haha. The kiosk for issuing unmanned keys worked well, but I was a bit disappointed I did not meet the friendly owner mentioned in other reviews. 3. Room condition The room is very small. Since I was staying alone, the size was fine. The bedding looks nice even in photos, and it really was comfortable. The small fridge is tucked into the tiny room, there is a large TV, and a long-ish bathroom. It was spotlessly clean. There is just enough space to open one suitcase, and there is storage space under the bed for a suitcase. Having traveled to Japan often, the layout reminded me of Japanese dormitory-style rooms. One downside is the window. I specifically booked a room with a window, but the window is very small and when opened it faces the neighboring building's exhaust fan. Also, the mini fridge gives off a lot of heat, so if you turn off the air conditioning the room gets stuffy quickly. I have an allergy to air conditioning so I have to turn it off while sleeping, but I couldn't open the window, which made things difficult. 4. Overall There is a laundry room and a separate lounge, and overall it felt like a hotel friendly to foreign guests. I think it would be a good inexpensive option for foreign tourists. When I checked out I met two young owners who were very kind! For a family stay the surrounding environment might present challenges, but for Seoul tourists it should be fine.

Everything is good except the room is much smaller than it looks in the photos. The coffee they bring down only for hotel guests in the morning is also delicious~

It's small but clean and nice!!

This is a hotel with a very good location near Jongno 3-ga Station. It's a great location for traveling in Seoul and very clean. You can tell the staff pay attention to every little detail, and when you exit the entrance there are stairs next to it that go down to the basement where there is a lounge-cafe, so it's great to have a cup of coffee while working or resting. The bed was so comfortable that I slept very well. If I need to stay in Jongno, Seoul again, I will definitely revisit!!!

It was clean and very cozy. It might feel a bit compact to some, but I found it snug and pleasant. The owner was very kind, and the cafe drinks provided in the basement for guests were delicious!!

Clean and nice, but the shower water temperature keeps switching between hot and cold.
