About this property

Hello, this is Dongmak Yeogwan, a charming guesthouse on Ganghwa Island. Dongmak Yeogwan is a newly built guesthouse completed in 2022. It combines the classic, retro charm of “Yeogwan” with the atmosphere of Dongmak Beach on Ganghwa Island, and has been remodeled with a modern interior to match. We can accommodate not only couples seeking relaxation but also large families, corporate workshops, and other group events. A total of six photo zones are installed on every 0.5 floor of the building (3 general photo zones / 3 pet-friendly photo zones). Outside the guesthouse, a large moon-shaped light with a diameter of 2.5 meters is installed, perfect for capturing atmospheric silhouette photos. Three types of barbecue areas are available: outdoor, indoor street-style, and a dedicated party room. It is located just a 5-minute drive from Dongmak Beach, which boasts the largest sandbar in Ganghwa and is considered one of the world’s five major tidal flats. A space where you can experience a sense of comfort and tranquility that’s hard to find in the hustle and bustle of city life— we hope you’ll create wonderful memories at Dongmak Inn.

- When using the barbecue, if there is insufficient space in the in-room refrigerator (e.g., in double rooms), you may use and store items in the commercial-grade refrigerator located next to the inner room on the first floor. (Please use the ice cream freezer for frozen items.)

Information on Bringing Your Dog

– An additional fee of 10,000 won applies for one small dog (under 6 kg).

– An additional fee of 20,000 won applies for one medium-sized dog (6 kg or more but less than 15 kg).

– An additional fee of 30,000 won applies for each large dog (15 kg or more but less than 40 kg; includes mixes of the listed breeds such as Welsh Corgi, Shetland Sheepdog, Border Collie, Shiba Inu, Jindo, Akita, and Pungsan).

– For extra-large dogs (40 kg or more) and dogs with heavy shedding (triple or quadruple coats), an additional fee of 40,000 won applies.

– Large dogs that do not bite and are well-socialized are permitted.(Please call for inquiries.)

- Restricted breeds will not be admitted, even if a reservation has been made. If you are unsure, please call our main number first.

- Simple self-service bathing and drying facilities for your dog are available.

We have a spacious outdoor pool open only during the summer season.

- There is a parking lot that can accommodate approximately 20 or more vehicles.

- One vehicle is allowed per room. For groups (especially when using the party room), please use the Hamheodongcheon Campground Parking Lot 3 (free, 400 meters from the pension).

Booking Notice

Reservation Notice: - Please return your room key to the table at the reception desk. - Accommodation facilities are legally prohibited from allowing mixed-gender stays involving minors. Additionally, reservations and stays by minors are subject to the property’s policies, and refunds will not be issued for this reason. - Visitors other than those listed on the reservation are strictly prohibited from entering the premises. - “I’ll just use the barbecue” or “I’ll just pop in to say hello” are absolutely not permitted. If you expect visitors beyond the pre-registered number, please be sure to consult with us in advance. - Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the guest rooms. Please smoke only in designated areas. (Designated areas: Information provided at check-in) - If smoking is detected inside the room (especially in the bathroom), you will be asked to leave immediately (no refund); if detected after checkout, you will be charged one day’s room rate. - Even with ventilation, odors from smoking in the room or bathroom may linger for a long time and significantly disrupt the next day’s operations, so please strictly adhere to this rule. - Please refrain from behavior that causes discomfort to others, such as excessive noise, loud drinking, or rowdy behavior, as this may result in your removal from the property. Quiet Hours: 11:00 PM – 6:00 AM the following day - Out of consideration for the next guests, cooking that produces strong odors is prohibited in guest rooms; we appreciate your understanding. - Please use the designated barbecue area for grilling pork belly, fish, and seafood. If you violate this rule by grilling pork belly or fish in your room, you will be asked to vacate the premises (no refund) and charged one day’s room rate. - For room safety and fire prevention, burners, candles, helium gas, fireworks, portable heaters, and any personally brought cooking equipment (grills, charcoal, electric/heating appliances, etc.) are strictly prohibited. - Please strictly adhere to this rule due to the risk of fire; violation will result in immediate eviction (no refund). - Please be sure to notify the innkeeper immediately if any furnishings are damaged. - Guests are responsible for any damage to or loss of facilities or amenities while using the pension and its facilities. Guests must compensate for 100% of any property damage caused by their negligence or by their pet dog biting someone. - Please notify the innkeeper immediately if any facilities or furnishings are damaged. If you check out without notifying us after causing damage, you will be charged double the amount of the damage. Please treat our property as if it were your own. - Please leave valuables (such as rings and necklaces) at home or store them carefully, as their loss may lead to misunderstandings and disputes during the search process. The pension cannot provide monetary compensation for lost items. - Please be mindful of the safety of infants and young children. The pension is not liable for accidents caused by guest negligence. - !!Important!! To prevent accidents such as your dog escaping, traffic accidents, or going missing, please ensure your dog is always on a leash when outdoors. - Please ensure your dog does not harm other dogs due to your own negligence. We are not liable for any accidents. - The swimming pool is open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM.(Swimming is prohibited after closing time.) - Children in elementary school or younger must be accompanied by a guardian to enter the pool. - Since there is no fee to use the pool, no lifeguards are on duty, and we assume no liability for accidents. - Before entering the pool (especially if you have been to the beach first), please be sure to rinse your feet with water before use (both for pets and owners). - Diving and entering the pool while under the influence of alcohol are strictly prohibited!! If caught, you will be immediately asked to leave (no refunds).
