Yongsan Pyeongan Motel

This is my first time leaving a review with 1 star. Even one star is too generous; the room was insanely dirty as soon as I entered, so I checked out after 5 seconds. It looks nothing like the photos — do you enjoy making money like this? Run your lodging business with a conscience. If you live your life like that you will be punished in the afterlife. This is the first time I've ever said something this harsh. Don't waste your money and never book!😡😡😡

It was fine^^ I had a good rest.

The condition inside is much worse than the listing photos and it was not cleaned. There were a lot of hairs, cobwebs on the ceiling, heavy mold in the bathroom sink, and when you turn on the sink the water pours onto the bathroom floor. The light switch button does not work, you have to use the remote and point it at the light which is very inconvenient. I told the owner but it still did not work; when I asked again he responded in an annoyed tone. The front door uses a key but it does not lock or open well, and the owner said if I might mess it up again I should leave the key with him when I go out. I do not feel comfortable trusting anything to this place. The room is nothing like the photos and it is so dirty that it ruined my mood, and the owner’s attitude was so bad that I checked out in less than 30 minutes. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed.

This is the first time I've stayed at a motel like this, so I'll be blunt in my review. First, they adjusted check-in time so I could come early and rest, which felt nice. But everything started going downhill after I went up to the room. 1. I definitely booked a deluxe room, but it was nothing like the photos: there was no bathtub, and everything from the decor to the air conditioner looked old-fashioned. The room was also smaller. I don't understand why they even distinguish deluxe vs. standard. I live outside Seoul and always look forward to resting on a motel bed when I visit the city, but my mood dropped quickly. 2. I smoke myself, but the heavy cigarette stench plus a strange musty motel odor hit my nose. The bathroom smelled oddly metallic too. I tried to be understanding about worn decor, peeling wallpaper, and a poorly cleaned bathroom. But stained bedding and the lingering smell of old food from previous guests were really bad. I woke up after a short nap and swore out loud. If I'd come with my girlfriend or family, I would have packed up and left immediately. I briefly went to a PC room, and that place smelled better than this motel. It wasn't just cigarette smell. 3. The door did not lock. Someone mentioned this in other reviews, and yes, my door wouldn't lock either. Luckily there were no other guests, so I just closed it loosely and went out. 4. I don't know if there are no other motels nearby or if Yongsan is just expensive, but 50,000 won is absolutely unreasonable. Compared to non-Gangnam standards, you can usually find places around 50,000 won that are well worth it. Personally, this felt like a roadside inn worth 20,000 won in the provinces. 5. The heater was working fine earlier but shut off in the middle of the night. The floor heater had been on, but everything went off at night and it was very cold. I tried to tell myself everyone has different standards and almost didn't write this, but the smell was so bad I couldn't help but complain.

As soon as I entered the first room the smell nearly made me vomit. The bedding smelled like an older man and the bathroom reeked of sewage, so I asked to switch rooms. The next room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, so I asked for a refund but was told they could not do it. In the end they moved me to a seldom-rented room on the third floor. It was very cold and the smell was somewhat less but still had that old-man and naphthalene odor. There were weird water stains on the wallpaper and I felt really disgusted.

Do not book this trashy room.... The blanket has holes and there is no management here. The bathroom is filthy and they do not clean at all.

I slept comfortably. Thank you.

I recommend not going.. The motel is cold, scary, and dirty.. Waste of money. No place to park..
