Busan Nokcheon Hot Spring Hotel

The Korea Quality certification is a national certification system established to provide tourists with reliable information on establishments and services. Korea's oldest hot spring, Dongnae Hot Spring [東萊溫泉] Dongnae Hot Spring was famous for its warm spring (溫井), which was believed to have a special healing effect on the sick, and many royal family members and noble literati visited it during the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties. Dongnae Hot Spring has a long history, with records remaining in 『Samguk Yusa (三國遺事)』. The hot spring water in this area is weakly alkaline, rich in magnesium, and has the most chloride ions, making it a weakly saline hot spring (弱食鹽泉) that is said to be effective for neuralgia, skin diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, and gynecological diseases. In addition, the water quality is soft and less irritating, posing no burden to the elderly, infants, or patients in recovery. In 1962, Nokcheon-tang, a public bathhouse using the Dongnae Hot Spring source water, was opened in Oncheon-dong, Dongnae-gu, Busan, and Nokcheon Hotel was newly built in 1980. The name Nokcheon (鹿泉) in Nokcheon Hot Spring comes from the origin story of Dongnae Hot Spring, which states, “When a white deer came, slept, and left, a warm spring was dug up.”
