Cheongju New Bali

It was simply comfortable for a one-day stay.

The bed creaked loudly until I woke up, and the cleaning must have been sloppy because I cut the sole of my foot on pieces of broken glass left in the room from the day before and bled — this place is an utter disgusting mess.

The room condition and cleanliness were truly the worst.

This was the worst lodging I have ever stayed in during a trip to Cheongju. Right after entering, the smell of cigarette smoke was very strong, permeating the walls as well as the comforter and pillows, which was extremely unpleasant. Even my boyfriend, who is a smoker, said he could not lie down on the bed. There was hair left on the bed and pillows, and the robe was hanging there with no indication of when it had been cleaned—these days many places provide robes after sterilized laundry and in disposable packaging, but not here. The bathroom condition was also poor. There were cigarette ashes left in the sink, and the toilet paper was just a single roll of ordinary tissue. Even if the price is low, this level of hygiene is unacceptable. In the end, we felt it would be harmful to stay longer, so even though it was a waste of money, we left without sleeping and booked another place. Also, I was very upset that someone rang the room bell and opened the door without any notice. I thought it was my boyfriend and opened the door, but someone who had come to the wrong room awkwardly turned away—later I realized it was probably the male owner. Approaching a guest-occupied room in this manner is hard to understand.

It was nice to rest comfortably.

Clean and nice. I'll go again next time.
