Yeongdeungpo Sun Motel

I went with my first-year middle school son. They kept asking for his ID, asking how they could know we were mother and son, and when I showed a mobile copy of the family register the third time they still demanded my son's ID and asked if we were definitely mother and son. They asked a total of five times and even said "I will believe you" before letting us check in. I travel a lot and go to Yeongdeungpo often, but I've never been treated like that. The moment I saw the room I felt 75,000 won was a complete waste and wanted to leave right away. The room felt like a cheap inn and was very small. There was mold between the floor panels and a warning not to put out cigarettes on the floor covering, which shocked me. The bathroom is so small that every time you shower water leaks out everywhere. There was no dining table, so you have to eat on the floor, and you must take your shoes off outside. The TV was all paid channels, and the next day a cockroach even appeared. I seriously wanted to report that the building is not non-smoking. We got in very late so we just slept, but pay a little more and go somewhere nicer. Of all the motels I've stayed at nationwide on my weekend trips, this was the worst. I never want to go back. Going with my son, no matter how you look at it he is clearly a child, yet they suspected us like it was a paid-meeting or that we had been fined for something, which made me feel disgusted. Also, because the room is small the bathroom is close and every time the door opens there is a horrible stench. Expecting any soundproofing is a luxury; you would have to whisper.

I had a reservation and planned to check in around 2 a.m., but there was nobody at the front desk. I called the front desk but the phone was off. I wasted my money and ended up sleeping at a jjimjilbang that night. I only wanted to rest comfortably for a few hours because of work, but I stayed up almost all night and just showered and left in the morning. I've stayed at many lodging places, but this is the first time the place had nobody on site and didn't answer the phone. I couldn't use the room at all and I have no intention of using it again. They also said they would not process a refund.

This is a somewhat old motel. It's not a keycard but a real key, and the room is just the right size for sleeping.

If you're looking for an inexpensive room in Seoul, I recommend this!! There is no elevator, but you can carry a suitcase up the stairs to the 2nd or 3rd floor. It's close to the bus stop and good if you just want to sleep for one night!

The cleanliness is really awful. If you go expecting a 1970s guesthouse, it might be a nice nostalgic trip. Good content for YouTubers. It's really serious, honestly.

It's not bad, but there is no separate parking, the bed is right by the door when you open it, you take off your shoes outside and go in, and there is no elevator so you have to use the stairs—very inconvenient if you have luggage. It's not bad for a cheap place to sleep. Smoking is allowed.
