Poignant place to experience and see history through recreated scenes of the time
A historical exhibition center that houses a prison built by Imperial Japan in 1908. It includes an underground cell where activist Yu Gwan-sun was imprisoned and killed shortly after the March 1 Movement, a watch tower, a torture chamber, an execution chamber, a building with seven cells, and a history exhibition hall. The history exhibition hall, which was previously used as a guardhouse and torture chamber, includes a video archive and a solitary cell where visitors can learn about Korea's painful history. There is also a souvenir shop inside where you can buy historically significant items.
