A national natural monument and the only one of the country's Oreum listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. It is named for its black color and dense forest. The natural ecosystem is well preserved, and there are various historical and cultural resources, including military installations from the Japanese occupation and charcoal kiln ruins. It is a popular trekking destination, but due to its UNESCO Natural Heritage status, it is only open by reservation to avoid damage.
